This week we have had our 2024 Year 7 students visiting from our local contributing schools. Its hard to believe that in only a few months we will be formally welcoming them into our school as Year 7’s. Time really does move at pace.
With our Year 8 students leaving and a new cohort due next year we think it is timely to briefly share with you what we have done strategically this year. Behind the scenes we have been working incredibly hard as a staff to review and develop our local curriculum along with the framework for how we will deliver the key teaching and learning that underpins this. We are also upskilling ourselves professionally to ensure that over time we continue to deliver relevant and high quality programmes for our learners. All of this work has been done under the guidance of Mark Osborne, a highly regarded and knowledgeable facilitator.
Despite all the work we have done this year, there is still plenty to do from a strategic perspective. In 2024 we will be:
- Continuing our work with Mark Osborne
- Working with Kura Ahurea to implement a kaupapa Māori perspective into our teaching and learning programmes
- Consulting with our school community in developing a graduate student profile.
Next week is a busy EOTC week for us with classes on camp, visits to Adrenalin Forest and to Te Rauparaha Arena Pool. We hope the weather plays ball and everyone has a great time. Thank you to all parents who are coming to our EOTC events. Without your help we would be unable to run our programme.
Have a great weekend.
Ngā mihi
