On Tuesday and Wednesday we held our Year 7 and Year 8 prize givings. This was the first time we had held these events since December 2020 due initially to Covid and then not having a school hall.
At these prize givings we were able to acknowledge our students who have not only made a contribution but excelled in their academic, cultural and sporting endeavours. We were also able to acknowledge those who have shown the qualities that align with our core values of excellence, respect and resilience. Congratulations again to those students. Our whānau turnout was huge and thank you to all of you who came to celebrate the achievement of their children.
For our Year 8 students a chapter in their school lives is closing and another opens next year. This has been a great student cohort and we have really enjoyed the contribution to our school culture that they have made. We hope they cherish the friendships and memories they have created here, and carry the lessons learned into their future. Hopefully in years to come they will see their time at Hutt Intermediate as being the best years in their school lives.
To our Year 7 students we look forward to seeing you all in 2024 after a relaxing summer holiday. We know you will do an excellent job helping our new students settle into life at Hutt Intermediate.
To all of our community, thank you for your ongoing support. We greatly appreciate your efforts to help make our school the best it can be.
Have a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday.
