With the end of the term fast approaching, we are already beginning to look towards next year. Next week we are holding our school in action visits. These visits are a time when Year 6 students and whānau who are interested in attending our school, come along and literally see “our school in action”. We are working on training up our strongest advocates, the student leaders to be tour guides and we look forward to welcoming prospective students to our school. Our 2025 prospectus will be going online on the 22nd of July. Enrolments will also open on this day.
As one student group begins their journey to our school, another student group is beginning their journey out. Our current Year 8’s should be undertaking the enrolment process for the college or high school of their choice. Hutt Valley High have asked us to remind parents that their enrolments are open and if you haven’t enrolled your child could you please do so as soon as possible.
Back to the present, on Wednesday we had Olympic Ambassador Sarah Cowley-Ross come and speak to the school. The highlight for me wasn’t what Sarah spoke about, although she was a fantastic speaker, instead it was the rousing Haka that our whole school performed for her. We have never seen our children perform so passionately, with such volume and perfect coordination. It was the highlight of my year to date.
We hope you are all keeping warm as the winter chill starts to bite. Have a safe and happy weekend.
Ngā mihi
